Grady Hooper became Whamo’s leading BT20 run scorer of all time last week. The former NZ U19 player has been working his way up the leader board since making his BT20 debut back in season 17. He started with 126 on debut & passed previous leader Abbey with a stunning 133* last week. his tally now stands at 5,804 runs.

On his achievement Hoops said, ‘its amazing to see the names on that list. Abbey, Wilbs, Val, Bossie, French, Dickie & of course my mentor George Grewcock. to be on the list with them is amazing for me, to sit at the top of it, is quite surreal.’

Hooper is regarded my many as Whamos finest ever batsmen and he has been tipped to one day become their all time leading run scorer across all formats. He’ll need a further 5505 runs, but at just 31, who would bet against him?
