Daren Duck has been named the new permanent captain of King Whamo. A product of the Whamcademy, Duck is a firm favourite amongst fans and players alike. Having served as vice-captain under Dick Sedgwick for the past 3 seasons, the decision has been made to make the local lad the permanent captain.

Of his appointment Duck said ‘It was a dream to train with this club, to play for this club, and its a dream to captain this club! the next dream is to win some trophies as captain. A big thank you to Sedgers as well, he was a great captain for the club and we all loved playing under Dick’.

Baker said ‘the boy has never been one to duck a challenge and he’s taken to captaincy like a duck to water. We as a club felt we needed to refresh and the handover from Dick has been text-book’!
