Daren Duck yesterday became Whamo’s all time leading wicket taker. Duck remains the last player to come from the once famous Whamcademy & establish himself as a first time regular. He made his debut & took his 1st wicket in season 18 and by season 23 was Whams premier bowler, claiming 85 victims in what remains his 2nd best season to date. He hasn’t looked back & having spent 5 seasons as the clubs vice captain, was announced as the club captain this year.

His 799th wicket was taken as he also completed his 27th five wicket haul. Legendary status was always on the cards for this local lad & his name will forever live in the Whamo record books. Now the question stands as to whether Duck can make it to 1000 wickets before he retires. Aged 30, few would bet against him.
