Gloucester Gipsies’ 20 year old starlet Alvin Zibi has been named captain for the forthcoming BT20 competition.

The decision has been questioned in some quarters but Gipsies’ manager Sambo Dinho had this to say:

“We want to give him a shot to test his captaining credentials. We see a lot of potential in the lad and his leadership skills are plain to see on the field and in the dressing room.

“He might be young but he’s not afraid to express his mind. Add to that he’s a decision maker and we feel we have a captain for the future.

“We see this BT20 competition as a great place for him to start his career as a captain. We’ll be aiming to finish in the top 2 of the group and automatic qualification to the exciting knock out phase at the end of the season”
