“In Burki we trust” -Forever engraved in to the club emblem. And now the great man is also forever engraved in to the shire.

Club legend of club legends, Syed Burki, has today had a statue in his honour unveiled in the shire:

Displayed at the very central point of the shire, Shire-Central Square, the statue depicts Burki with bat in left hand and keeping glove on raised right hand, representing the man’s prowess with both tools at hand. Syed Burki played his final game for the Gipsies in last week’s Wham-Gip tournament, an event that was a great celebration of the man’s playing career, and this statue will see his legend passed on to future generations.
