What a week for Whamo!

28 April

Club legend & leading run scorer George Grewcock this week passed 30,000 competitive runs for King Whamo. Grewcock made his Whamo debut as a 17 yo in the clubs 1st ever match 10/03/06. He scored a promising 22 off 19 balls, but nobody could have expected the career that has followed. Now 34 George scored 105 off 49 balls this week to pass the 30,000 mark in style. When questioned about the achievement Grewcock said “its fantastic & when I retire I’ll look back on my career with a smile on my face. That time isn’t yet & I have a few years in the tank yet!’
An incredible week for the club was topped off when Grady Hooper received an international call up this week. Grady was called into the NZ U19 squad & marks the clubs 1st international recognition. The club and Hooper are delighted!
