No chance he’d Rowl over!

29 June

On Monday Rowland found out this weeks FC match with Sussex Snowmen would be his last for Whamo.

He could’ve been forgiven for giving up on his time & focussing on the next challenge. The 34 yo had other ideas, producing 1 of the finest performances of his career. In the 1st innings he came to the crease with Wham 149-5. Dropped 3rd ball he refocused & steered the tail to 210 all out, facing 117 balls for his gritty 28.

2nd innings he entered the fray with Wham 63-5. An expertly paced innings saw him finish up 41 not out guiding us to a 234 run lead.

Whams top scorer still wasn’t happy that was enough & led by example in the field. Vocal as ever, it was he who turned the game back in Wham’s favour with a remarkable catch to dismiss Harrison. Wham won by 17 runs.

Rowland the hero!
