Leading wicket taker of all time departs

31 March

The Gloucester Gipsies are sad to announce that their leading wicket taker of all time, Denis Radford, has left the club.

With 558 Gipsies wickets to his name, the West Indian fast bowler, one of the successes of the youth academy, nearly left at the beginning of this season due to financial uncertainty at the club. However, an immense record cup run to round 9 just kept the club alive and meant we didn’t have to sell our popular fast bowler until now.

With funds required for a new trainee as well as the recent acquisition of Teddy Cutler to partner Craig Henk in spearheading the attack for season 19, Denis has now moved on to Pie Chuckers, where we wish him all the best.

A man of few words and many wickets, Denis Radford is always welcome at the Gipsies clubhouse.
