Greg Grewcock (GGj) has been officially unveiled as the club’s new captain, taking charge of matters on and off the field in all formats of the game.
GGj had been touted as a future captain from the first day he pulled on the Gips shirt at the age of 17. The club feel he has now gained enough experience to assume the role. He becomes the youngest man to take on the role since Alvin Zibi was made BT20 captain at age 20 in 2008, and in all formats a few seasons later.
GGj will take charge of the final 3 games of the season before being charged with leading the team in to the 18th King Gip Bowl in the off season where he’ll be looking to retain the trophy that the Gipsies won last season.
GGj said, “This is a great honour, we’re going places, and, dare I say it, Gipsies Hoooooo!”
