Ryan Scott-reed this week became the first player in the King franchise to score 500 runs in one innings. His effort, saw him amass an impressive 517 from 502 deliveries.
King Whamo legend Luke Sephake previously held the King record with 469* but that has now been eclipsed. Scott-reed, is now this seasons leading run scorer in WI FC Level VI cricket, as well as being the 4th highest run scorer in the whole of WI FC competition.
He said of his achievement “I’m delighted! We knew there would be runs available on this pitch and a few of us went and got them. I just took each 100 as it came, but to get to 500 was truly special”. He later joked “Its the kind of thing you only do once in your career, so perhaps its time to call it a day!”
