Sunday will mark the end of the road for one of the Gipsies’ founding members and indeed the club’s first ever captain, Calum Ramsay.
Ramsay’s final game for the club will be against old foes Bellissimo CC. He will be given the honour of captaining the side once again, as he did in the very first days of the Gipsies’ existence.
The match will also see Ramsay become the first ever Gipsies player to play at 40 years of age.
The day will be a huge party and later that night there will be a black tie function where the club will honour him as the first Gippo to enter what is likely to become an illustrious Hall of Fame.
The hugely popular Ramsay never misses a game, albeit from behind the bar nowadays, and despite hanging up his willow he says he’ll remain an ever-present spectator.
